The Minamiboso area has suffered heavy damage after a powerful typhoon struck Chiba Prefecture on September 9th.

Typhoon Faxai caused a large-scale blackout, water failure and a disconnection of network system across Minamiboso City.

We are still struggling to deal with broken roofs and other debris even nearly a month after the typhoon hit the area. It is a very time-consuming task.

Although some parts of the buildings and facilities are still in need of restoration, all “Michi no Eki”, or Roadside Stations, located in the city are now back to regular business hours. Many accommodations and restaurants are also open as usual.

Minamiboso Tourism Association staff has said that there’s been no problem with traffic access, and no impact has been made to our rich natural tourism assets.
